Terms of Service for Sun Sense Herpetology:

By purchasing a reptile from us, you agree to the following terms and conditions:


-Payment Plans: We offer payment plans through Afterpay for customers who do not wish to pay the full amount upfront. Afterpay takes over the payment plan for us, offering you a trusted service to pay the full amount over installments, and there’s no payment-related delay in receiving your purchase. Afterpay boasts ~4.8 stars over 100,000 reviews on Trustpilot (https://ca.trustpilot.com/review/afterpay.com). - Cancellations and Refunds: All prices on our site and social media accounts include a 25% non-refundable deposit for the item. We reserve the right to cancel any order at any time for any reason. If we cancel an order, we will refund the full amount paid by the customer. If the customer cancels an order, the deposit will be lost and we will refund the remaining balance paid.  If an order is canceled by the customer after 60 days, an additional $50 per month of the hold will be charged for the care of the reptile, charged against the refund amount issued to the customer. If an order is canceled by the customer after shipping has been booked with the courier, the shipping costs paid by the customer will not be refunded. The care charges cannot exceed the refund amount.  No returns or exchanges are accepted.

- Winter Holds: We offer winter holds for customers who want to delay the shipping of their reptile due to cold weather. If the customer requests a winter hold for a reptile and cancels the order after 60 days, an additional $50 per month of the hold will be charged for the care of the reptile, charged against the refund amount issued to the customer.  The care charges cannot exceed the refund amount. Reptiles on winter hold must ship in the following spring. If an event arises where a reptile is still on hold throughout the following shipping-appropriate seasons and there's no shipping confirmed by the customer, we reserve the right, at our discretion, to consider the sale canceled by the customer, and subject to a $50 care charge per month on hold, charged against the refund amount issued to the customer. The care charges cannot exceed the refund amount.


- Health Guarantee: We guarantee that all our reptiles are healthy, feeding, and without any visible health concerns at the time of shipping. We are not responsible for any health issues that may arise after the reptile arrives at the customer's location. The customer must inspect the reptile upon arrival and notify us of any problems within 24 hours. We will not accept any claims after 24 hours. In the event of a successful claim, the customer assumes cost of the shipping, and the refundable paid amount will be issued to the customer. Tail drops are a normal occurrence for a sarasinorum or crested gecko, and we are not responsible for any tail drops that happen before, during, or after shipping.  The customer is responsible for providing proper care, housing, and veterinary services for the reptile.

- Sex Guarantee: We guarantee that all reptiles listed as ‘Male’ or ‘Female’ are determined as such to the best of our ability. The customer must inspect the reptile upon arrival and notify us of any problems within 24 hours. We will not accept any claims after 24 hours. If we are incorrect about our determination of sex, you may exchange the gecko for a comparable gecko of the correct sex. If no comparable geckos of the correct sex are on sale, we will work out a resolution with the customer on a case-by-case basis. Reptiles listed as “Probable male”, “Probable female”, “No visible pores”, “Visible pores”, or “Unsexed” do not include any guarantee of sex. Reptiles listed as “Proven male” and “Proven female” indicate that the animal has successfully produced offspring. This label does not guarantee that the animal will successfully reproduce in the future.

- Shipping: We currently offer shipping within Canada, excluding Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut, and remote regions outside of Reptile Express services. We ship our reptiles via to the customer's address or the nearest FedEx/UPS hub. We only ship when the weather conditions are safe for the reptile. We use insulated boxes, heat packs, and cold packs as needed. We provide a tracking number and a delivery confirmation for each shipment. We are not liable for any delays, damages, or losses caused by the carrier. The customer must be present to receive the shipment and sign for it. If the customer misses the delivery, the health guarantee will be voided.


- Disclaimer: We are not liable for any injuries, illnesses, or damages caused by the reptile to the customer or any other person or animal. The customer assumes all risks and responsibilities associated with owning a reptile. The customer agrees to follow all applicable laws and regulations regarding the possession, transportation, and care of the reptile. The customer also agrees to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, lawsuits, or liabilities arising from the purchase or ownership of the reptile.
